Join us for an in-person tour of the 90,000 square-foot Mary C. Winder Community Center that provides a welcoming space for the Oneida Indian Nation community located in Oneida, NY. This building is one of the largest, newly constructed glulam projects built in the state. The glulam was sourced from the only mass timber manufacturer in NYS, Unalam located in Unidilla, NY. This event will start with a 1-hour (PDH) presentation from the Structural Engineer of Record, Dr. Cole Hamey, PE with Thorson Baker + Associates (presenting virtually) on designing buildings with glulam framing. The presentation will be followed by a tour of the building by the Construction Manager, Maggie Werts with The Hayner Hoyt Corporation. The presentation is only available to in-person attendees.

Dr. Cole Hamey, PE,

Since joining Thorson • Baker + Associates (TBA) in 2007 as an EIT, Cole has received his PE license and assumed the role of Structural Senior Project Manager. Cole’s project experience with TBA includes healthcare, commercial and educational projects. Cole has been the lead engineer on multiple Revit projects, as well as multiple projects that are vibration sensitive. Cole has also worked on projects utilizing the Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) and LEAN construction practices. In March of 2025, Cole became a Director.
