The professional standard of care is not static but fluid. This course will explain what the standard of care is at a base level and how it is legally determined; discuss how it is and potentially will evolve in the face of new design challenges; support the development of best practices in conforming to same under specific circumstances; and provide an understanding of what constitutes related professional misconduct.
As a specialty A&E insurance broker and risk-management consultant, Kriton acts as a resource for his clients on issues related to cost-conscious placement and enhancement of professional liability and other relevant insurance, contract terms & conditions, project-specific concerns, insurance coverage, loss prevention & mitigation, and litigation & claims advocacy. Prior to joining Risk Strategies, Kriton spent eleven-plus years as a practicing attorney dedicated to counseling architects and engineers, including litigating on behalf of design professionals through to trial, representing same in contractual negotiations and other transactional matters, and acting as Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP’s Associate General Counsel.
