Join us for the fourth session of a four-part series of educational training sessions on the new DOB Code updates.


This session will be presented by Tanya Luthi, PE of Entuitive


Learning Objectives

  1. Summarize the main revisions to Chapter 23 (Wood) in the latest NYCBC.
  2. Explain the new provisions for cross-laminated timber (CLT) in the latest NYCBC.
  3. Explain new requirements for fire-resistance rating of structural wood connections in the latest NYCBC.
  4. Describe code updates for light-frame wood structures in the latest NYCBC, including provisions for cutting and notching and for wall bracing.

Speaker: Tanya Luthi, PE

 


Tanya Luthi is a structural engineer and Vice President at Entuitive, a multidisciplinary consulting engineering practice in Canada and the US. Tanya started her engineering career in New York City specializing in large-scale institutional projects. During a five-year stint living and working in Vancouver, she discovered a love for mass timber design and has made it a focus in her career. She is a member of the New York City structural code committee and serves on the Board of Directors of WoodWorks.
