Join us for the first session of a four-part series of educational training sessions on the new DOB Code updates.
This session will be presented by Ramon Gilsanz, of Gilsanz Murray Steficek.
Course Description:
This course investigates the differences between the seismic portions of the 2014 New York City Building Code and the latest released Code.
The objective is to highlight and explain the modifications and additional requirements in seismic design.

Speaker: Ramon Gilsanz
Ramon Gilsanz is a founding Partner of Gilsanz Murray Steficek. He is currently serving as Chair of the New York City Department of Buildings’ Structural Technical Committee, a group responsible for the revisions of the New York City Building Code. He is also a member of ASCE 7-22 Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures committee, several American Concrete Institute (ACI) committees, and the AISC committee on specifications.
In his career as a structural engineer, he has worked on a wide range of projects: new buildings, adaptive reuse, special structures such as the tallest building in Spain (the Caja Madrid Tower) and the Cai Guo-Qiang exhibit at the Guggenheim Museum.
