SEAoNY’s Young Members Group is an assembly of SEAoNY members dedicated to easing the transition of students and young engineers into successful, professional engineers and future leaders in structural engineering. Our goal is to continue to offer new ways for YMs to be integrated into the greater SEAoNY community by providing a variety of events. YMG is a great opportunity to learn more about the industry, expand your network and sculpt the early development of your career!

Annual Museum/Site Tour - Each year, SEAoNY YMG sponsors a discounted group rate to a local museum or iconic site that may otherwise be inaccessible. It is an educational opportunity to learn about our industry’s progression and motivate young engineers to be excited about their careers. Past tours include the Skyscraper Museum and One World Observatory. Cross-Programming - YMG works with local chapters of other professional organizations to host technical lectures and social events, allowing members to expand their network in an unintimidating environment. Past partnerships include ASCE Met Section YMF, Urban Green Council and ASCE’s Structures Group. Community Involvement and Outreach - YMG lends volunteers to the Education & University Outreach Committee for Structure Quest and Shadow a Structural Engineer, but they also offer additional outreach opportunities. Past collaborations include ASCE’s Kids Day and the Salvadori Charrette. |
