The 9/11 Structural Engineers Memorial Committee has created a short documentary highlighting the efforts of structural engineers and other design professionals that were called upon to help maintain the stability of remaining structures and allow for the safe movement of debris after the collapse of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. The intended audience for this film includes students, young professionals, and the general public. SEAoNY tells this story so that the memory of 9/11 is not forgotten and we hope this in some small way honors all those that lost their lives on 9/11.
Following the collapse of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, structural engineers and other design professionals were called upon to help maintain the stability of remaining structures and allow for the safe removal of debris. After the initial effort, SEAoNY continued to provide our services for the clean-up and investigation of the disaster, as well as to many other affected buildings south of Canal Street.
SEAoNY is now working to distribute the documentary throughout the country to raise the awareness of our profession.
