Organizations - International
International Standards Organization (ISO)
ISO is a network of the national standards institutes of 157 countries, on the basis of one member per country, with a Central Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland, that coordinates the system. ISO 14001 offers firms a great framework for developing a comprehensive set of environmental operating policies. A documented Environmental Management System should not only outline methods for reducing consumption of energy and other natural resources, but also provide for continual review and improvement of such procedures.
